Project Description
This project constructs a new truck climbing/passing lane on Interstate 90 eastbound from Highline Canal to Elk Heights, to reduce accidents from slower moving vehicles and passing vehicles.

Recent Progress
After the winter shutdown, the contractor, Scarsella Brothers, Inc. of Seattle, Washington, resumed work on the project March 15, 2004. The first scheduled task is installing temporary traffic control for the remainder of the project.

Design Construction Impacts
Because of the area’s climate, work on the project was suspended November 20, 2003 due to snow and cold temperatures.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
To comply with project permits, best management practices for construction are being implemented.

Impacts to Traffic
Lane closures will occur Monday thru Thursday while Scarsella Bros. is working. No lane closures are allowed Friday thru Sunday or holidays.
