Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending December 2004

Project Title & Location
I-90/Sullivan-State Line Median Barrier &
I-90/Sullivan Road to Idaho State Line-Phase 2.
Located in the Spokane Valley, MP 292.10 to MP 299.82.

Project Description
Installs seven miles of cable median barrier to prevent vehicles from crossing the median and entering into opposing lanes of traffic.

Contractor/Consultant
Inland Asphalt Co. Spokane WA.

Recent Progress

Most construction was completed by September 22, 2004, eight months ahead of schedule.  Some cleanup and minor adjustments remain which will be completed in the spring of 2004.

Design Construction Impacts
Because of a conflict with the Argonne Road to Sullivan Road contract a small segment of the cable median barrier was deferred and will be completed by December 2005 with the Argonne Road to Sullivan Road work.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

No significant impacts at this time.

Impacts to Traffic

No daytime traffic impacts anticipated.

Contract Advertised October 2004   April 2004 To assure completion of this project in the summer of 2004 the ad date was advanced to April 2004 - five months ahead of schedule.
Work Completed July 2005  September 2004 Due to the advanced advertisement and not having a winter shutdown, the project was completed eight months early.
