Project Title & Location
I-90/Argonne Rd. to Sullivan Rd.-Spokane Valley

Project Description
This project will add a third lane, in each direction, to Interstate 90 between the Argonne Rd. I/C and the Sullivan Rd. I/C. All existing lanes will be rebuilt with Portland Cement Concrete.

Recent Progress

Work has now exceeded the fifty percent complete milestone. Work will continue through the winter on the construction of the noise walls south of I-90 near Argonne Road as weather permits. Eastbound traffic was routed to the new pavement in late October 2004. No additional impacts to traffic are expected until March 2005 when the westbound traffic will be routed onto the temporary configuration during construction of the new lane.

Design Construction Impacts

No issues at this time.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

The Contractor will be using best management practices to mitigate and minimize any potential negative impacts to the environment.

Impacts to Traffic

Traffic is now in its temporary realigned position for the winter.  No changes/impacts are anticipated over the winter.

Contract Advertised November 2003 May 2003 Completed 6 months in advance of schedule.  Preexisting funds were used to complete the design and right of way acquisition.
EB traffic moved to temporary lanes March 2004 March 2004 All traffic has been moved to temporary lanes.  The Contractor has started reconstruction of the eastbound half of the freeway.
EB lanes reconstructed November 2004  October 23, 2004 EB traffic was moved to its temporary alignment for the winter on October 23, 2004.  1 week ahead of schedule.
WB lanes reconstructed November 2005    No Issues at this time
Open to Traffic Fall 2005   No Issues at this time
