Mountains to Sound Greenway Days, June 29-30, 2008
We had two booths to let everyone know that the I-90 project will start construction soon. One booth was located at the Issaquah Classic Car Show and Cruise, and the other was at the relay finish line at Golden Gardens Park.
Salmon Recovery Days, May 23, 2008
WSDOT staff members were greeted by hundreds of students in Kennewick during the Salmon Recovery Days. Students released salmon they raised in classrooms into a local fishing pond. At the I-90 booth, students learned the importance of wildlife crossings.
4th Grade Environmental Camp, May 4-9, 2008
The I-90 Project office teamed up with various environmental organizations to teach students about the importance of environmental conservation in Easton.
Yakima Greenway Rivers Festival, October 11, 2007
WSDOT Environmetal Engineers demonstrated how they help transportation and wildlife at the Yakima Greenway Rivers Festival. The event celebrated E.A.G.L.E. Earth Day and was held at Sarg Hubbard Park in Yakima.
Puyallup Fair, September 21, 2007
The WSDOT exhibit at the Puyallup fair featured the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project and the WSDOT Avalanche Crew. The Avalanche Crew showcased their explosives materials and several displays educating the public about their avalanche control operations.
Grant County Fair, August 14-18, 2007
Kicking off the 2007 fair season, the I-90 staff partnered with Transco at the Grant County Fair in Moses Lake August 14-18 to educate the public about Transco and WSDOT projects across the state.
Festival at Mount Si, August 11, 2007
The Festival at Mount Si (formerly known as "Alpine Days"), held by North Bend Festival Committee, has been a community tradition for over 30 years. Attracting over 30,000 visitors, the festival promotes the spirit of North Bend's small town community.
Snoqualmie Railroad Days, August 4, 2007
Taking place in Snoqualmie's Historic Old Town, Railroad Days is a three-day festival filled with community events & entertainment sponsored by the City of Snoqualmie. It's close proximity to the project boundaries made this event a prime location to showcase upcoming improvements to I-90 Snoqualmie Pass.
Issaquah Concerts on the Green, July 24, 2007
Every Tuesday during July and August, the City of Issaquah Parks and Recreation and the Issaquah Arts Commission, in collaboration with Kiwanis of Issaquah, hold a picnic and free concert on the lawn of the Community Center. Attracting more than 1,500 people each week, WSDOT shared the messages of the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project with those gathered to enjoy this popular event.
Yakima Farmer's Market, July 22, 2007
Located in the heart of downtown Yakima, the Market regularly features fresh produce, crafts, and other specialty products from the Yakima Valley and also proved to be an ideal venue to showcase current and future WSDOT projects.
Mountains to Sound Greenway Days, June 24, 2007
The 4th annual Mountain to Sound Greenway Days on June 24 celebrated the protected and working forests, farms, historic towns, lakes, campgrounds, rivers, trails, and wildlife habitats which stretch over 100 miles along I-90 from Seattle to Central Washington. This unique event brought people from across the state together and gave the I-90 team the opportunity to highlight the environmental benefits of the project.
Selah Community Days, May 19-22, 2007
This year, WSDOT volunteers participated for the first time in Selah Community Days, the annual 3-day festival, held, Saturday, May 19-22. This event provided an excellent opportunity for the I-90 project staff to educate the Selah community on the upcoming improvements to I-90 Snoqualmie Pass as well as other WSDOT projects throughout the region.
