Overview
WSDOT and Sound Transit built HOV on and off-ramps in the I-90 median, connecting to the existing 142nd Place SE bridge in the Eastgate area of Bellevue. Contractor Mowat Construction began construction in March 2005. We opened the new ramps to traffic on Oct. 21, 2006.
 | Improves Safety
Eliminates weaving and merging by HOVs on I-90 trying to get in and out of the center lanes. This reduces the potential for collisions.
|
 | Relieves Congestion
Reduces likelihood of slowdowns caused by weaving or merging traffic on I-90, resulting in shorter commute times for all drivers and improved transit schedule reliability.
|
 | Protects Environment
Facilitates drainage and water treatment with two new detention ponds and new drainage systems at the 150th Ave SE interchange and at the new 142nd Place SE interchange.
