Project Description
This project will provide increased vertical clearance for the westbound Cle Elum River bridge (90/134N).

Contractor/Consultant
Diamaco Inc. - Bellevue WA

Recent Progress

Diamaco has measured the bridge for the new steel members and has ordered the steel from the fabricators.  Delivery is expected in early October.  Construction of the temporary detour was complete July 16, 2004 and work on the project was suspended until steel could be delivered.

Design Construction Impacts

Due to steel availablity issues, project will not be complete until Fall.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
All environmental documents were completed in the fall of 2003.  All work will occur within the existing right of way.  Impacts are minimal and no mitigation is required for this project.  Best management practices will be used during construction.

Impacts to Traffic
During steel replacement work, the speed limit will be reduced and westbound traffic will be detoured to the eastbound lanes from 8 PM to 6 AM.  I-90 will be limited to one lane in each direction, separated by traffic safety barrels.  All lanes will be open to traffic from Friday noon to midnight Sunday, during non-work hours, and on holidays.
