Project Title & Location
I-90/ Cle Elum River Br. 90/134N -
West of Cle Elum

Project Description
This project will provide increased vertical clearance for the westbound Cle Elum River bridge (90/134N).

Contractor/Consultant
Project advertised, not awarded yet.

Recent Progress
The project was advertised 3/15/04.   The project will be constructed in the summer of 2004.

Design Construction Impacts

Project is on schedule; no impacts to advertisement this quarter.

The project is able to re-locate a median crossover for WSDOT maintenance vehicles and state patrol at no additional cost to the project.  This is accomplished by reshaping one of the median detour crossings constructed for the project.  The new crossover increases safety for slow-moving snow plows and other maintenance vehicles by providing increased sight distance.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
All environmental documents were completed in the fall of 2003.  All work will occur within the existing right of way.  Impacts are minimal and no mitigation is required for this project.  Best management practices will be used during construction.

Impacts to Traffic
During construction hours, the speed limit will be reduced and westbound traffic will be detoured to the eastbound lanes.  I-90 will be limited to one lane in each direction, separated by traffic safety barrels.  All lanes will be open to traffic from Friday noon to midnight Sunday and during non-work hours.
