Project Description
The project will build noise walls to reduce existing freeway-generated noise along I-5 in the Roanoke vicinity. The project is funded to complete design and construction.

Recent Progress
Stage 2 Construction: Construction of the noise walls is complete. Tree planting will be completed in Spring 2006.
Stage 3 Preliminary Engineering Preliminary Engineering is 60% complete. A Community Open House was held February 27, 2007. Information presented at the open house is available on the website. Preliminary engineering will be completed and construction phase beginning in Spring 2008.

Design Construction Impacts
Stage 2: Some planting will be done in Spring 2006.
Stage 3: Construction impacts are continuing to be determined through our design phase.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
Stage 2: All construction having environmental impacts have been completed
Stage 3: Environmental documentation has been cleared. Noise Variance Permit and Street Use permits will be obtained from the City of Seattle.

Impacts to Traffic
There will be street and lane closures on location streets during construction. Metro service may be impacted temporarily.
