*Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending September 2005*

Project Title & Location Reconstruct I-5 Interchange at NE 134th Street and NE 139th Street	Project Description Reconstructs the NE 134th Street interchange at the junction of I-5 and I-205. The improvement is needed to maintain safety on I-5 and I-205 and to keep traffic moving at acceptable levels through the interchange area. It includes construction of a supplemental interchange and I-5 crossing at NE 139th Street.
Contractor/Consultant Environmental Assessment Consultant: HDR
Recent Progress In April, the legislature transferred $15 Million in Nickel funds to this project bringing the total to $55 million of Nickel funds. Clark County has secured $8 million in TIB funds, $11 million in Fed. Earmarks, and $6 million from the County Road Fund, bringing the total funding to $80 million. Clark County will be pursuing the additional $14 million needed to complete the project and will be talking with county commisioners and legislators for approval to advance funding for construction in 2008. In April, Consultant HDR received the notice to proceed with the environmental assessment that is currently underway and is scheduled to be complete in Spring 2006. A VE study and 30% plans review were conducted in September 2005. The project is on schedule for a proposed construction start date of Spring 2008, provided advanced funding can be secured by the County.
Design Construction Impacts It is too early in the project to determine the magnitude of these impacts.
Environmental Impacts / Compliance The Environmental Assessment and impact study for this project will detail the project's direct and indirect environmental impacts (natural, ecological, societal and economic) in order to guide final design and construction. This project may provide an opportunity to improve wetland habitat and storm water runoff in the project area. The EA is on schedule and the draft discipline reports will be distributed for review in September 2005.	Impacts to Traffic There will be impacts to traffic during construction, which will be determined as the project develops.
