Recent Progress

Negotiations continue for the advanced acquisition of undeveloped property that will help ensure a timely project completion. WSDOT has advanced $1.65 million for the purchase of multiple properties. This advance will not increase the project cost and will lessen the risk of delays due to design changes.

A team of traffic engineers from WSDOT, Clark County and Parsons Brinckerhoff has worked closely to explore multiple options of traffic routing to ensure the maximum improvement in traffic flow. This traffic modeling work allows for the completion of the supplement to the Access Decision Report that will be submitted to the Federal Highway Administration for approval.

Design Construction Impacts
It is too early in the project to determine the magnitude of these impacts.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

The necessary environmental impact study for this project will detail the project's direct and indirect environmental impacts (natural, ecological, societal and economic) in order to guide final design and construction.  This project may provide an opportunity to improve wetland habitat and storm water runoff in the project area.

Impacts to Traffic
There will be significant impacts to traffic which will be determined as the project develops.
