Recent Progress

Final design is progressing well with construction anticpated to begin in 2011.  The team has recieved the Biological Opinion from the National Marine Fisheries and the Environmental Assessment is in the final review process.  The team anticipates releasing this information to the public by the end of the summer 2009.  This will also allow the application of required permits to begin.

Appraisals have been completed on several parcels and negotiations are underway.  The final acquisition process will begin when NEPA is complete.

Construction scheduled to begin in 2011.

Design Construction Impacts
The project team is determining the optimal project phasing plan to fit the project financial plan. Coordination with utility companies is underway.  An existing Park and Ride lot will be relocated and improvements to several local streets will be made.  Seperate construction contracts are administered by both Clark County Public Works and WSDOT.  The timing of these construction projects is being analyzed by the project teams.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The Environmental Assessment for this project will detail the project's direct and indirect environmental impacts (natural, ecological, societal and economic) in order to guide final design and construction.  This project will provide an opportunity to improve wetland habitat and storm water runoff in the project area.

Impacts to Traffic
There will be impacts to traffic during construction, which will be determined as the project staging develops.
