Project Title & Location
New bridge between I-5 and SR 411

Project Description
This project constructs a new bridge across the Cowlitz River from State Route 411 in Lexington to I-5 at the existing Ostrander Road interchange (exit 42). This is a partnership project with Cowlitz County.

Contractor/Consultant
Cascade Bridge Inc.

Recent Progress

The project is operationally complete and open to traffic as of September 2007.

Design Construction Impacts
Construction impacts consist of minor daytime noise increases in the vicinity of the work area due to the operation of construction equipment.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The contractor completed bridge foundation installation within the first specified work window. Work has started on the noise wall installation.

Impacts to Traffic
Motorists can expect single lane closures with flaggers alternating traffic on SR 411 and Sparks Drive with minor slow downs on the I-5 ramps while the contractor is completing the project.

Right-of-Way Complete December 2005 Cert 3 issued on 3/16/06.  Cert 1 expected in 2007.
Contract Ad January 2008 April 2006 Advertised ahead of "nickel" schedule using local reimbursable funds.
Operationally Complete January 2010 September 2007 Completion two years ahead of schedule.
