New bridge between I-5 and SR 411

Project Description
This project constructs a new bridge across the Cowlitz River from State Route 411 in Lexington to I-5 at the existing Ostrander Road interchange (exit 42). This is a partnership project with Cowlitz County.

Contractor/Consultant
Cascade Bridge Inc.

Recent Progress

Contractor has completed the installation of a temporary work platform that spans across the river.  This will allow access for the equipment needed to install the bridge foundations.

Design Construction Impacts

Construction impacts consist of minor daytime noise increases adjacent to the work area due to the operation of construction equipment.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance

The contractor has completed the initial work platform which required the use of "bubble curtains" to minimize impacts to the endangered species.

Impacts to Traffic

Motorists can expect single lane closures with flaggers alternating traffic on SR411 while the contractor is installing curb, sidewalk and underground utilities.

Advertised ahead of "nickel" schedule using local reimbursable funds.
