Completed Projects
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila State 2B - Northbound. Completed in 1995, this built the northbound HOV lane from Military Road South to the I-405 interchange in Tukwila.
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 1 - Southbound. Completed in 1998, this project built a truck climbing lane and HOV lane on southbound I-5 from the I-405 interchange to South 188th Street.
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 2S - Southbound. Rebuilt the SR 516 interchange to accommodate a new mile-long extension of the HOV lane in the vicinity of the interchange. Completed in 2002.
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 3 - Southbound. Built an HOV lane from just south of the SR 516 interchange to South 320th Street in Federal Way. The portion which extends traffic camera coverage from South 188th to South 320th is substantially complete. Completed in 2002.
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 4 - Southbound and Northbound. Built a northbound HOV lane from Military Road South to the Pierce County Line and a southbound HOV lane from South 320th Street to the Pierce County Line. This project is funded by the Nickel Funding Package enacted for transportation by the 2003 Washington State Legislature. Completed in July 2007.
Projects in Design
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 2N - Southbound. Will replace the interim southbound HOV lane from South 188th Street to South 211th Street and builds a truck climbing lane in the same location. Construction for this project has not been funded.
Unfunded Projects
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 5 -Northbound. Will replace the interim northbound HOV lane from Military Road to South 200th Street. Design and construction are not funded.
- I-5, Pierce County Line to Tukwila Stage 6 -Northbound. Will replace the interim northbound HOV lane from South 200th Street to the I-405 interchange, pave bridges and improve the existing roadway pavement. Design and construction are not funded.
