This project is on I-5 between Stanwood and Smokey Point. Beginning in mid-July, WSDOT contractor crews will replace the southbound Stillaguamish River bridge deck and some of the steel frame under the deck. During the deck replacement, I-5 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction near the bridges and will share the northbound Stillaguamish River bridge. Southbound traffic will use crossover lanes built in the median on each side of the bridges. The crossover lanes will be used for about four months. When work is complete, I-5 will be restored to three lanes in each direction on separate bridges.
