Alternate Highway Routes

During the most intense period of construction on northbound lanes of I-5 from Aug. 10 through 29 drivers will likely use numerous alternate highway routes (pdf 552 kb).

Alternate Truck, Transit and Vanpool Routes

A designated truck, transit and vanpool only lane will help keep traffic moving on Airport Way South.

WSDOT recommends truck drivers use one of three approved alternate routes (pdf 190 kb) from Aug. 10 through 29:

• I-405, reconnecting with I-5 at milepost 182 (oversize vehicles permitted)
• Exit 156 to northbound SR 599 to East Marginal Way South (oversize vehicles permitted), reconnecting with I-5 via SR 519 on-ramp to I-5
• Exit 156 to northbound SR 599 to East Marginal Way South to Airport Way South, reconnecting with I-5 via Dearborn Avenue on-ramp to I-5
