Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2007

Project Title & Location
I-5, SR 532 Interchange Improvements -- Stanwood.

Project Description
Replace the temporary traffic signal at the northbound I-5 off ramp with a permanent traffic signal system. Widen SR 532 to allow two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane through the interchange area. Construct a retaining wall and sidewalk on the south side of SR 532 behind the I-5 bridge columns and a new traffic signal at the SR 532 and Old Highway 99 intersection. The project will also add 49 parking spaces to the existing Stanwood Park & Ride lot.

Construction started on 6-5-2006

Recent Progress

Crews finished and opened the expanded P&R lot per scheduled on October 2, 2006, crews also finished paving the third lane of I-5 NB off ramp, finished realignment of Old Highway 99, they also finished sidewalk, curbing and bus pads around the P&R. 

Design Construction Impacts
 

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
No significant impacts are anticipated.  Storm water will be treated and efforts will be made to minimize wetland impacts.

Impacts to Traffic
Lane closures and weekend ramp closures will be required to construct this project.  Construction staging is developed in an effort to minimize impacts to traffic.  Anticipate a comprehensive public information effort share timing of construction activities and traffic impacts. All work will be completed by summer 2007

Advertisement Date March 06, 2006 The project was advertised in March 2006 and it's currently under construction
Open to Traffic September 2007 All work will be completed by summer 2007
