Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending September 2007

Project Title & Location
I-5/SR 432 Talley Way Interchanges

Project Description
The interchanges at I-5 and SR 432, and at SR 432 and Talley Way are in close proximity to each other with substandard weaving lengths between ramps. This project will reduce congestion and collision risk by reconstructing portions of the interchanges and improving connections to existing roadways.

Contractor/Consultant
PB is performing the environmental documentation and interchange justification report.

Recent Progress

The project team is moving forward with the environmental reports using the preliminary project footprint defined by the preferred alternative.

A project Cost Risk Assessment was completed in June 2007.

Right of way plans are being prepared. 

 

Design Construction Impacts
More preliminary geotechnical work will be done in Fall 2007 to determine if liquefaction mitigation is needed in order to widen the existing structure over I-5.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The baseline environmental technical reports of the existing conditions are complete.

Impacts to Traffic
The project team will begin construction staging and traffic control concepts soon.
