Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending June 2007

Project Title & Location
I-5/SR 432 Talley Way Interchanges

Project Description
The interchanges at I-5 and SR 432, and at SR 432 and Talley Way are in close proximity to each other with substandard weaving lengths between ramps. This project will reduce congestion and collision risk by reconstructing portions of the interchanges and improving connections to existing roadways.

Contractor/Consultant
Parsons, Brinkerhoff, is performing the environmental documentation and interchange justification report. 

Recent Progress
 The project team is moving forward with the environmental reports using the preliminary project footprint defined by the preferred alternative.

Record of Survey and Right of Way plans are being developed.

The project team is preparing bridge site data and has begun searching the area for potential wetland mitigation sites.
 

Design Construction Impacts
A large development may be proposed adjacent to this project.  WSDOT will week early coordination with the City of Kelso if it progresses.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The baseline environmental technical reports of the existing conditions are complete.

Impacts to Traffic
The project team has begun to look at construction staging and traffic control concept.
