Quarterly Project Report Update for Quarter Ending December 2007

Project Title & Location
I-5/SR 432 Talley Way Interchanges

Project Description
The interchanges at I-5 and SR 432, and at SR 432 and Talley Way are in close proximity to each other with substandard weaving lengths between ramps. This project will reduce congestion and collision risk by reconstructing portions of the interchanges and improving connections to existing roadways.

Contractor/Consultant
PB is performing the environmental documentation and interchange justification report.

Recent Progress
 Right of way plans and a sundry site plan for the wetland mitigation site are being prepared.   The project office is working with the utilities for the relocation of the existing facilities impacted by the improvements.  
 

Design Construction Impacts
More preliminary geotechnical work is scheduled in Winter 2007 to determine if liquefaction mitigation is needed in order to widen the existing structure over I-5.  Detailed design work is under way.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The baseline environmental technical reports of the existing conditions are complete.

Impacts to Traffic
The project team is scheduling construction staging and traffic control concepts to begin this quarter.
