Workers remove wood forms from the South 317th Street bridge abutment on the west side of I-5. The forms work like a mold to hold the concrete while it's setting.

The detention pond on the east side of I-5 just south of Military Road will be fully operational the week of Sept. 13. Rainwater runoff from I-5 drains into the pond, which removes pollutants and sediment before the water is released at a controlled rate into its natural drainage path. Workers seeded the banks with grass to prevent erosion.

This September 1st photo shows that crews have placed all the rebar in the South 317th bridge support on the west side of southbound I-5. Next, workers will pour concrete inside the wood support forms.
