What has WSDOT done to involve and inform the public?
There are many ways to learn about this project from the Environmental Assessment through construction. Through public notices (.pdf), this Web site, mailers, and the local media, we will let you know what is going on and how you can participate. We also want to know what you think. You can send us your general comments in writing or by e-mail us.
WSDOT engaged the public in the early stages of this project in March 2004 with a newsletter and invitation to an open house to learn about the project and review preliminary project plans. The open house was held on April 21, 2004 at the W.F. West High School in Chehalis. The public viewed displays and discussed concerns and ideas with project staff.
WSDOT will host a combined Open House and Access Hearing for affected property owners on April 5, 2005 at W.F. West High School, 342 SW 16th Street in Chehalis. The open house is from 5 p.m to 6:30 p.m. It will provide interested parties an opportunity to view project exhibits, and to meet project team members prior to the start of the access hearing. The access hearing will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Public involvement will continue during the environmental and design phases of the project and as the project moves toward construction. WSDOT will post the latest public involvement information on this Web page and the SW Region's Public Involvement page when public meetings or open houses are scheduled.
