Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The North Fork Newaukum wetland bank credits will be used to mitigate wetland impacts. A hazardous material site has been identified and is located in the southwest quadrant of the LaBree Road interchange. Impacts to construction are minimal.
The project is continually focused on temporary erosion control measures.
|
Impacts to Traffic
Construction will be staged and an aggressive public awareness campaign will be used to minimize traffic impacts. I-5 may be restricted to one lane, each direction at night while staging is completed. Two lanes will be open in each direction during the daytime and at night as staging allows. The contractor has been approved to use rolling slowdowns to access the median. The speed limit reduction to 50 MPH has been removed within the project limits.
