Project Title & Location
I-5/ NE 175th St to NE 205th St - Shoreline

Project Description
This project will widen NB I-5 to provide an auxiliary lane between NB on ramp at NE 175th St to NB off ramp at NE 205th St. Existing 11 foot general purpose (GP) lanes will be re-striped to 12 feet. Widening the NB on ramp at NE 175th St will provide extra GP storage at this metered location. The purpose is to improve operations and safety on I-5 by adding a NB auxiliary lane for merging and exiting traffic.

Contractor/Consultant
Project was awarded to Pacific Road & Bridge Company.

Recent Progress

Contractor completed median improvements and is currently constructing the retaining wall, traffic barrier, and drainage for the new northbound auxiliary lane. Contractor is also working on the noise walls for both sides of the freeway.

Design Construction Impacts

None at this time.

Environmental Impacts / Compliance
The contractor is utilizing Best Management Practices during construction to avoid impacts to the environment.

Impacts to Traffic

Motorists will experience daytime shoulder closures and periodic lane and ramp closures during evening hours.
