I-5 - James to Olive Pavement Rehab - Complete October 2005

Overview
Resurfaced one mile of southbound Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle with a stronger and longer lasting concrete surface. This eliminated a patchwork of asphalt pavement between James Street and Olive Way. The Union Street exit under the Convention Center, at Dearborn Street was also paved. 

Repairs and pavement work were completed in October 2005.

Vehicles no longer have to weave around cracks or potholes and have a more consistent driving surface.

Partnerships & Cooperation
At WSDOT we seek to address the concerns of the tribal nations using the process outlined in Section 106 of The National Historic Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan. This project is exempt from Section 106 Consultation.
