Driving through Everett has become a daily struggle for commuters on I-5. We began construction September 2005 and are making great progress on this $260 million project to help relieve some of this congestion. Plans include adding a carpool lane northbound from Highway 526 (also called the Boeing Freeway) to US 2 and southbound from Marine View Drive to Highway 526. WSDOT will also add a new lane in each direction between 41st Street and US 2, build a brand new interchange at I-5 and 41st, build a new right-hand Broadway Avenue exit, widen 18 bridges and build (or replace) 5 bridges, improve on-ramps and exits, add noise walls at some locations and install several storm water treatment facilities.
