The project is located on southbound Interstate 5 between Bakerview Road and the Nooksack River Bridge. Crews will install dowel bars in between the concrete panels that make up I-5. The dowel bars will tie the concrete panels together and help prevent them from tipping and causing the familiar "bump bump bump" sound that motorists currently feel and hear. Then crews will grind the surface of I-5 smooth. This will increase the life span of the freeway and increase safety.
