A photo of the proposed roundabout on S. 356th Street to replace the current intersection of S. 356th, SR 161 and 16th Avenue South.

Proposed: A new roundabout would replace both intersections to allow for a smoother flow of traffic. In addition, a new southbound I-5 exit would provide direct access to South 356th Street with a second leg providing access to SR 161 farther south. View a larger photo (pdf 355 kb) of this area.

A photo of the existing southbound I-5 exit ramps to eastbound and westbound SR 18 near Federal Way.
Proposed: A single ramp would replace the two existing ramps. The new ramp would be larger and accommodate more vehicles. It will also eliminate the tight loop ramp that currently leads to eastbound SR 18. The new five-lane ramp will have three lanes turning left onto eastbound SR 18. Two lanes will turn right, or westbound. View a larger photo (pdf 539 kb) of this area.
