Impacts to Traffic
Traffic will be detoured through Mount Vernon at night when full directional closure of I-5 is required (Contractor has used 11 of the 23, I-5 closures allowed in the contract). Mitigation efforts include a comprehensive public awareness campaign. The next I-5 closures will occur this spring to remove and replace median barrier, construct new drainage, and pave south bound I-5 in the vicinity of the new bridge.
