I-5 – NB S 260th to Duwamish River Bridge – Concrete Pavement Rehab and ADA - Driver Expectations

Weekend-long lane reductions:

Ten of 12 weekends when northbound I-5 will be reduced to two lanes are finished.

Two weekends with lane reductions remain for expansion joint work. The next is scheduled for:

  • Oct. 27-30: From 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday crews will replace expansion joints on northbound I-5 at the Duwamish River.

All seven of the weekends for paving between SR 516 and South 170th Street are finished. Paving is also complete on the Interurban Avenue and Duwamish River bridges.

Nighttime lane reductions: Work began in April 2017 with crews using overnight lane reductions, mostly on weeknights, to replace concrete panels, grind and pave. Nighttime lane reductions will take place throughout the two years of the project.

Generally, no lane reductions will be allowed on Friday or Saturday nights, except during the weekend-long lane reductions.

Northbound I-5 will remain open at all times, although the number of lanes may be severely limited.
