Overview
The Tulalip Tribes, in cooperation with WSDOT, Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, the city of Marysville, and Snohomish County, are planning major improvements to the I-5/116th Street NE interchange in Marysville. The improvements will be built in phases as funding becomes available. WSDOT worked closely with the Tribes on the design and construction of Phase, the Quil Ceda extension, which opened to traffic on May 7, 2007.
Crews extended Quil Ceda Boulevard 2/3 of a mile north to meet at a roundabout with 34th Ave NE. They installed a signal where the new road intersects with 116th Street NE. They also removed the signal at the intersection of 34th Ave NE and 116th St NE. Traffic is now restricted to making right turns only to and from 34th Ave NE.
 | Improves Safety
The improvements enhance access and traffic flow through this busy area, reducing congestion-related collisions.
|
 | Relieves Congestion
The new roundabout and signal help keep traffic moving on 116th Street NE near I-5.
