In the creek diversion system generators power the pumps that push water into three 24-inch pipes that run south along the I-405 shoulder. The pipeline then turns onto northbound Talbot Road and into a wetland. The first run (in green) is up and running. All three pipes were operational by Dec. 23.
WSDOT also has a secondary, back-up pumping system that pushes water into a storm drain along the I-405 shoulder to the north of the creek.
