New Interchange at SR 99 and SR 525 - Snohomish County

On time: Good The interchange was opened three months ahead of schedule On Budget: Fair The project is about $1.2 million over the original $20.7 million cost. Some of this is due to the unexpected presence of hazardous materials that needed to be cleaned from on site.

By adding a new grade-separated interchange at SR 99 and SR 525, WSDOT has provided immediate congestion relief for commuters traveling to and from the Boeing Plant via the Mukilteo Speedway. The interchange was opened to traffic in mid-December last year, about three months ahead of schedule, with some finishing touches, such as guardrail installation, still being completed.
