I-5 Ravenna Bridge Deck Rehabilitation - Seattle

On time: Good The bridge rehab was opened to traffic 3 days early. On Budget: Good The project was $22,390 under budget. Three days of incentive pay totaling $75,000 was earned by the contractor

The bridge on northbound I-5 over Ravenna hadn't been repaved since it was built. There were ruts in the pavement and in some places, steel reinforcing bar was exposed. Repairs to the rebar, and new concrete on top have will extend the life of this bridge for decades to come.

The project was quite visible, since it is on I-5 in the Seattle area, and received lots of media coverage. We had to close lanes to complete the work, thus impacting traffic. The contractor, Concrete Barrier, Inc., took advantage of our incentive program and finished the job three days ahead of schedule.
