Striping season crew locations

Striping season lasts from April 16 until October 31. Crews will re-stripe more than 4,500 miles on dozens of highways around the Puget Sound area between the King/Pierce county line and the U.S./Canadian border.

US 2: Monroe to Sultan - paving

Crews will repave about five miles of US 2 from Monroe to Sultan and improve safety by installing centerline and shoulder rumble strips, and re-striping road markings.

WSDOT crews will completely close U.S. 2 near the Tumwater Campground to just west of the Leavenworth city limits nightly Monday - Friday from June 1 - to June 31 for paving.

I-5: Travel Time Signs #7642

We will install three travel time signs at key decision points on Interstate 5. The signs will provide real-time travel information to help drivers decide which route to take to their destinations.
- Thursday, July 2 - Crews will close the three left lanes on southbound I-5 at 128th Street SW for construction work. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., the second at 9 p.m. and the third at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.

I-5 /SR 104: Central King to South Snohomish Bridges #7591

Crews will retrofit 19 bridges on or near I-5 from central King County to South Snohomish County. Six of these bridges are in Tukwila, and 13 are located in Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood. These retrofits will bring all 19 bridges up to current seismic standards.

WSDOT and Sound Transit will build a bus station in the median of I-5 at 236th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. The station will have bus-only ramp connections to the I-5 HOV lanes.
- Monday, June 29 - the morning of Thursday, July 2 - Crews will close the three left lanes or the two right lanes on southbound I-5 between SR 104 and 220th Street SW nightly construction work. The left lanes and right lanes will NOT be closed at the same time. Left lane closures will occur between 7 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Right lane closures will occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Monday, July 6 - Crews will close the two right lanes and three left lanes on northbound I-5 between SR 104 and 220th Street SW nightly for construction work. The left lanes and right lanes will NOT be closed at the same time. Lane closures will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

We will repave more than nine miles of northbound I-5 from 52nd Avenue W in Lynnwood to SR 526 just south of Everett. We will also repave one mile of SR 525 just north of Lynnwood and the on- and off-ramps at 44th Avenue West, SR 525, I-405 and SR 526.
- Sunday, June 28 - the morning of Friday, July 3 - Crews will close the three right lanes on northbound I-5 from 52nd Avenue W. to 164th Street SW nightly from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction work.
- Sunday, June 28 - the morning of Thursday, July 2 - Crews will close the three right lanes on northbound I-5 from 164th Street SW to SR 526 nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction work.
- Monday, July 6 - Crews will close the three left lanes on northbound I-5 from 220th Street SW to SR 525 for construction work. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., the second lane at 10 p.m. and the third lane at 11:59 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 7 a.m.

- Wednesday, July 8 - Crews will close the three left lanes on northbound I-5 from SR 525 to 128th Street SE for construction work. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., the second lane at 10 p.m. and the third lane at 11:59 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 7 a.m.
- Thursday, July 9 - Crews will close the three left lanes on northbound I-5 from 164th Street SW to SR 526 for construction work. The first lane will close at 7 p.m., the second lane at 9 p.m. and the third lane at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 7 a.m.
- Saturday, July 11 - Crews will close the three left lanes on northbound I-5 from 220th Street to 164th Street for construction work. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane at 11 p.m. and the third lane at 11:59 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 8 a.m.

WSDOT will improve safety and reduce congestion on SR 9 between 176th Street and Marsh Road by widening the roadway and adding turn lanes at the busiest intersections.
- Tuesday, July 7 - Crews will alternate traffic in all directions on SR 9 at the intersection of Marsh Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for construction work.
- Thursday, July 9 - Crews will alternate traffic in all directions on SR 9 at the intersection of Broadway Avenue from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for construction work.

SR 9: Lake Stevens Road to 20th Street SE, #MS5998

Using WSDOT funding, Snohomish County will widen SR 9 and provide right-turning vehicles with their own lane at 20th Street SE and left-turning vehicles with a double left-turn lane. Crews working for Snohomish County will replace the current bridge over Centennial Creek with a new, wider bridge to accommodate the wider roadway.
- Until further notice - Snohomish County crews will close the left turn lane in both directions of SR 9 to 20th Street SE in preparation for bridge construction. Detour routes will be provided.

This project is located on SR 531 near SR 9. Improvements being made by the city of Arlington include construction of a curb, a sidewalk and storm drain system. Other work includes paving, striping and widening of the roadway.

SR 532: Corridor Improvements

WSDOT will address a variety of safety and congestion issues by building a wider bridge to replace the General Mark Clark bridge, adding turn lanes at numerous intersections and installing a truck climbing lane at three select locations.
- Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 - Crews will close short sections of the shoulders during the day along the entire highway to install erosion control and fencing. Please use caution and watch for crews working near the highway.
- Monday, July 6 - the morning of Wednesday, July 8 - Crews will close one lane of SR 532 on Camano Island from Smith Road west to Terry’s Corner nightly from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for restriping work. This work is weather dependent. Please watch for crews working near the road and expect minor delays.
- Thursday, July 9 - Crews will close one lane of SR 532 just west of the I-5 interchange, from 12th Ave/E. Sunday Lake Loop Road to 28th Ave/W. Sunday Lake Loop Road from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to restripe the road. This work will cause delays, which will be heaviest between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.
