SR 99: Alaskan Way Viaduct: Central Waterfront Geotechnical Drilling
Heather Santic, WSDOT Communications, 206-267-3789

SR 99: Alaskan Way Viaduct: Central Waterfront Utility Survey
Ryan Bianchi, WSDOT Communications, 206-267-6908
Crews are conducting utility surveys for the viaduct's central waterfront replacement. We are examining an alternative for this replacement that would move SR 99 into a proposed bored tunnel beneath downtown Seattle. Locating subsurface utilities requires crews to remove manhole lids and, in some instances, to directly expose the utility by drilling or digging holes in city streets, parking lanes and sidewalks.
- Monday, Nov. 16 - Friday, Nov. 27- We do not expect work to affect vehicle or pedestrian traffic.
