Express Lanes Schedule Changes

Description: WSDOT uses the I-5 express lanes to assist the flow of traffic during busy travel times. These lanes are scheduled to move in the direction that will relieve the most congestion from the transportation system.

  • **HIGH IMPACT** Saturday, Sept. 24 - The I-5 express lanes will remain closed until 10 a.m. for Ship Canal Bridge cleaning work. The lanes will open southbound by 10:30 a.m.
  • **HIGH IMPACT** Sunday, Sept. 25 - The I-5 express lanes will remain closed until 10:30 a.m. for Ship Canal Bridge cleaning work. The lanes will open southbound by 11 a.m.
SB S 320th St to Duwamish River Br Concrete Pavement Rehab - #8816

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are rehabilitating southbound I-5 between the Duwamish River Bridge in Tukwila and South 320th Street in Federal Way.

Work schedule:

  • Friday, Sept. 23, to the morning of Saturday, Sept. 24 - Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 at South 272nd Street will be closed beginning with one lane at 8 p.m. All lanes will reopen by noon. This work is weather dependent.
  • Friday, Sept. 23, to the morning of Saturday, Sept. 24 - The southbound I-5 off- and on-ramps at South 272nd Street will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. A signed detour will be in place. This work is weather dependent.
  • **HIGH IMPACT** Friday, Sept. 23, to the morning of Sunday, Sept. 25 - Southbound I-5 will be reduced to one lane from South 288th Street to South 320th Street from 11:59 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly. Lanes will begin closing at 8 p.m. and all lanes will reopen by noon. This work is weather dependent.
  • **HIGH IMPACT** Saturday, Sept. 24, to the morning of Sunday, Sept. 25 - Southbound I-5 will be reduced to one lane from I-405 to SR 516/Kent Des Moines Road from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. Lanes will begin closing at 8 p.m. and all lanes will reopen by 10 a.m. This work is weather dependent.
  • Saturday, Sept. 24, to the morning of Sunday, Sept. 25 - The South 188th Street/Orilla Road South on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. A signed detour will be in place. This work is weather dependent.
  • Saturday, Sept. 24, to the morning of Sunday, Sept. 25 - The South 200th Street/Military Road South on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. A signed detour will be in place. This work is weather dependent.
  • Sunday, Sept. 25, to the morning of Friday, Sept. 30 - Up to four lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to South 320th Street will be closed nightly beginning with one lane at 8 p.m. All lanes will reopen by noon. This work is weather dependent.
  • Sunday, Sept. 25, to the morning of Friday, Sept. 30 - The southbound SR 599 left-side ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. A signed detour will be in place. This work is weather dependent.

S 200th St / Military Rd Intersection Improvements - #8883
