Crews will replace 440 concrete panels and grind down uneven pavement on both directions of I-5 and the express lanes from Boeing Access Road in Seattle to the King and Snohomish county line.

Our contractor plans to finish grinding all of northbound I-5 in early November .

The contractor also hopes to finish grinding work on southbound I-5 by Thanksgiving.  This means we could be finished with the entire project by late November 2009. 

  • *New*Friday, Nov. 6 - Crews will close up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Northgate Way to NE 145th Street from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Crews also will close up to three lanes of southbound I-5 from NE 117th Street to N 85th Street from 10 p.m. until 7:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 7 - morning of Monday, Nov. 9 - Crews will close two of three lanes on southbound I-5 from NE 117th Street to N 85th Street. Crews will work from 10 p.m Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday morning; and from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday morning.
  • Monday, Nov. 9 - morning of Friday, Nov. 13 - Crews will close two of three lanes on southbound I-5 from NE 117th Street to N 85th Street from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly for pavement grinding work.
  • Friday, Nov. 13 - We do not expect construction to affect traffic tonight.
  • Saturday, Nov. 14 - morning of Monday, Nov. 16 - Crews will close two of three lanes on southbound I-5 from NE 117th Street to N 85th Street. Crews will work from 10 p.m Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday morning; and from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday morning.
  • Monday, Nov. 16 - morning of Friday, Nov. 20 - Crews will close two of three lanes on southbound I-5 from NE 117th Street to N 85th Street from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly for pavement grinding work.

Non-noisy construction work

  • Monday, Nov. 9 - morning of Friday, Nov. 13 - Crews will close up to two lanes on northbound I-5 from NE 45th Street to NE 145th Street from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. for permanent striping work.
