      Driver Alert: Emergency repair on SR 169 at Kummer Bridge over Green River

      WSDOT crews are conducting emergency drill work on the unstable slope south of the Dan Evans Bridge over the Green River on SR 169. The bridge is too unstable to allow traffic on the northbound lane.

      • Wednesday, July 3: Crews have completed emergency repair work. As of 6:10 p.m., all lanes on the bridge are open to traffic.

      • Tuesday, July 8 - SR 509 and SW Normandy Road - Crews will close the left turn lane at the intersection of northbound SR 509 and SW Normandy Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to repair traffic detector loops.
      • Wednesday, July 9 - SR 900 and S 129th Street - Crews will close the left turn lane at the intersection of southbound SR 900 and S 129th Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to repair traffic detector loops.
      • Thursday, July 10 - I-5 and S 188th Street - Crews will close the right turn lane of westbound S 188th Street and I-5 interchange from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to repair traffic detector loops.

      Until further notice: A traffic signal at each end of the bridge will alternately direct traffic into one lane until the bridge is stable enough to support traffic in both lanes.

      Crews will alternate traffic on southbound SR 169 Monday through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 4: 30 a.m. Crews will alternate traffic on northbound SR 169 Sunday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

      Crews will repave three miles of US 2 between Forest Service Road and Money Creek as well as install centerline rumble strips and guardrail.

      • Monday, July 7; Tuesday, July 8 - Friday, July 11 - Crews will alternate the eastbound and westbound lanes on US 2 between Forest Service Road and Money Creek for guardrail and paving work. Roadwork will occur on Monday, July 7, from noon to 8 p.m. and Tuesday July 8 - Friday, July 11 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. This work is weather dependent.

      I-5: South Seattle Seismic Retrofit #7367

      Crews will seismically retrofit 15 bridges on or near I-5 in South Seattle and on SR 900 in Renton. These retrofits will bring the bridges up to current seismic standards. 

      • Thursday, July 3 - Crews will close the right lane of Dearborn Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday; 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 3, to provide access to the bridge column for seismic retrofit work.
      • July 2008 - Crews will close the left lane of the  I-5/Swift Albro Place off-ramp 24 hours a day for seismic retrofit work.

      SR 18: Closures Related to SR 167: 15th Street SW to 15th Street NW

      The proposed noise wall includes two segments: Wall 1-North, between NE 92nd Street and NE 85th Street, and Wall 1-South, between NE 85th Street and NE 80th Street.

      • Thursday, July 3 - Crews will close the right shoulder of southbound I-5 from North 92nd Street to North 85th Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to install high visibility fencing.
      • Tuesday, July 8 - Wednesday, July 9 - Crews will close the right lane and off-ramps of northbound I-5 from N 80th Street to N 85th Street. Crews will also close the N 85th Street to Corliss Way ramp. All closures will occur 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights.

      WSDOT and Sound Transit will add HOV lanes to the I-90 outer roadway between Seattle and Bellevue. We will also build new I-90 HOV on and off-ramps on Mercer Island and will improve I-90 HOV access at Bellevue Way.

      • Crews will close the right lane of the ramp from southbound Bellevue Way to westbound I-90 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights to relocate an existing sign bridge.

      Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 11

      • Crews will close up to two right lanes on westbound I-90 from East Mercer Way to 76th Avenue for landscape irrigation work. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 11 p.m. Both lanes will re-open by 5 a.m.
      • Note: The City of Mercer Island will conduct intermittent lane and shoulder closures in the vicinity of the East Mercer Way and I-90 on and off ramps between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for signal system work.

      Tuesday, July 8 - Thursday, July 10

      • Crews will close the westbound I-90 HOV lane from the East Channel Bridge to East Mercer Way from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly to relocate an existing sign bridge.
      • Crews will close the I-90 center roadway from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to relocate an existing sign bridge.

      Wednesday, July 9 - Thursday, July 10

      • Crews will close the eastbound I-90 HOV lane from the East Channel Bridge to I-405 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights to remove an existing sign bridge and to place a new sign structure.

      Until further notice - Crews have closed one lane of the I-90 reversible center roadway between Island Crest Way and the Bellevue Way/I-90 interchange.

      SR 167: Closures related to I-405: Renton Widening (I-5 to SR 169), #7295

      • Crews will close the northbound SR 167 off-ramp and on-ramp to SR 516  (Willis Street) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to remove the traffic island. 
      • Crews will close the on-ramp from SW 42nd Street (S 180th Street) to southbound SR 167 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for barrier work.
      • Monday, July 7  - Crews will close the right lane of westbound SR 18 at SR 167 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. for pavement repair.
      • Wednesday, July 9 - Crews will close the left lane of westbound SR 18 at SR 167n from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pavement repair.

      I-405 - Renton - Slide Repair and Culvert Replacement #7510

      Crews will replace a culvert under I-405 in Renton that was damaged in the Dec. 3 storm.  First, crews installed a pump and pipe system to divert Thunder Hills Creek away from the damaged culvert. Next, crews will then use a hydraulic jack to install a new culvert.

      • Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 11 - Flagger crews will alternate traffic into one lane on Benson Road, one-half mile south of City Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., each day except for Tuesday morning, to allow for culvert repair work.

      Crews will close the right lane at Sunset Boulevard daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; crews will close the right lane at NE Park Drive daily, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

      We will widen I-405 within the city of Bellevue between 112th Avenue SE and SE 8th Street. The principle features of the 112th Avenue SE to SE 8th St project are one southbound lane from SE 8th Street to I-90 and one northbound lane from 112th Avenue to SE 8th Street.

      I-405: NE 10th Street Bridge Crossing

      WSDOT is partnering with the city of Bellevue to build a new freeway bridge at NE 10th Street in Bellevue. The NE 10th Street Bridge will be built in two stages. The city of Bellevue will construct the first stage. WSDOT will construct the bridge over I-405 in the second stage.

      WSDOT and Sound Transit are building a new I-405 overpass connecting NE 128th Street to the northbound and southbound HOV lanes on I-405. This will increase safety and reduce slowdowns caused by weaving or merging traffic, and improve transit schedule reliability.

      • Thursday, July 3 -  Crews will close the eastbound and westbound NE 124th Street on-ramps to southbound I-405, and the right lane of southbound I-405 adjacent to the ramps, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work. This work is weather dependent.

      SR 410 and SR 164: Roadside Safety Improvements

      WSDOT will improve safety in the SR 410 and SR 164 corridors by constructing guardrail, flattening side slopes and maximizing the clear zone.

      WSDOT is repaving SR 515 and constructing a raised traffic island and U-turn to replace the existing two way left turn lane. This new road configuration will help prevent collisions by directing cars to turn left at the U-turns rather than from the numerous business driveways.

      • Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 11 - Crews will alternately close the left lane of northbound and/or southbound SR 515 at 176th Street from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily forn striping. This work is weather dependent.

      This project improves safety and traffic flow from Sea-Tac Airport by adding a third eastbound lane on SR 518 between the North Airport Expressway and the I-5/I-405 Interchange.

      • Thursday, July 3; Wednesday, July 9 - Thursday, July 10 - Crews will close the right lane of eastbound SR 518 from 51st Avenue to I-5 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for paving. This work is weather dependent.

      This project will connect the light rail project from the 154th Street Station to Seatac Airport. 

      • Friday, July 11 - The Port of Seattle will close the southbound ramps from SR 518 to the Airport Expressway from midnight to 4:30 a.m. for construction work. Traffic will be detoured to southbound SR 99 onto SR 518.

      SR 519: South Royal Brougham Way Soil Drilling

      WSDOT is iimproving connections for ferry and freight traffic to the Port of Seattle terminals and the central waterfront area. SR 519 improvements will separate car, freight, pedestrian and rail traffic to help improve traffic flow, pedestrian safety and reduce the risk of collisions. This project is still in the design phase.

      We will widen State Route 520 in Redmond from two to four lanes in each direction. We will also build a new flyover ramp from westbound SR 202 to westbound 520.

      SR 522: HOV Enhancement Phase 2 - City of Kenmore

      The city of Kenmore will make several improvements to SR 522 between 73rd Avenue NE and the east city limits, including adding new traffic signals and sidewalks, widening SR 522 for business access and transit lanes, and replacing the Swamp Creek Bridge.

      • Until further notice: Crews shifted traffic lanes between 80th Ave. NE and 83rd Place NE. for paving and utility work. The middle two-way turn lane and the left turn and U-turn at 83rd Place NE is closed a result of the traffic shift. A detour route is provided.

      In this project we will construct a new signal for the westbound on-ramp to SR 522 at NE 195th street in Woodinville. We will also add an additional westbound on-ramp lane to improve traffic flow.

      • Wednesday, July 9 - Thursday, July 10 - Crews will alternate traffic into one lane at the interchange of 136th Street and Woodinville - Snohomish Road from 0 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping. This work is weather dependent.

      Crews will build a new entrance to the south side of the University of Washington Bothell campus. Our plans also include improvements to State Route 522 (Bothell Way NE) from the I-405 interchange to SR 527.

      • Monday, July 7 - Thursday, July 10 - Crews will alternately close one eastbound or westbound lane on SR 522 from I-405 to Kaysner Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for roadway excavation and hauling.
      • Monday, July 7 - Wednesday, July 9 - Crews will close the ramp from southbound I-405 to westbound SR 522 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for roadway excavation and hauling.

      SR 524: Widening Project - City of Bothell

      Crews working for the city of Bothell will turn the existing two-lane roadway to a five-lane roadway with bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides. They will also construct a new North Creek bridge, sound walls in some locations and a fish passage culvert on Filbert Creek.

      • Seattle Mariners Baseball - Seattle plays Detroit at Safeco Field on Friday, July 4 at 1:10 p.m; Saturday, July 5 at 7:10 p.m. and Sunday, July 6 at 1:10 p.m.

      Saturday, July 5 and Thursday, July 10

      • Seattle Storm Basketball- July 5, Seattle plays Minnesota Game time is 7:00 p.m. July 10, Seattle plays Phoenix. Game time is noon. Both games are played at Key Arena in Seattle.

      Sunday, July 6

      • Return to Renton Car Show- The car show will take place on SR 900 (South 3rd Street) from Smithers Avenue to Williams Avenue south from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The street will be closed to traffic during the show. A signed detour will be provided.

      Wednesday, July 9

      • Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival- at the White River Amphitheatre at 2 p.m.
      • Foo Fighters - at Key Arena in Seattle at 7 p.m.

      Friday, July 11

      • Stevie Wonder- at the White River Amphitheatre at 8 p.m.
