WSDOT seeks public input

STEVENSON – Members of the community are invited to an open house to learn about a new project that will keep people and freight connected between State Route 14 and the town of Carson in the Columbia River Gorge.

Currently, there are only two ways to access Carson from SR 14: Hot Springs Avenue, which is threatened by erosion and Wind River Road, where some trucks cannot make the turn because the existing angle is too tight.

On Tuesday, June 7, the Washington State Department of Transportation will hold an open house in Stevenson to present concepts that improve the intersection at SR 14 and Wind River Road seeking public input on project priorities.

“Each project we build is really for the members of the community, and getting their feedback helps ensure we are meeting their needs,” said WSDOT Project Engineer Susan Fell. “Using practical design, our final solution will ultimately achieve the goals of improved freight mobility to Carson and roadway safety.”
