Public feedback needed on community design concepts near I-5
SEATTLE – Public discussions continue as the Washington State Department of Transportation seeks feedback on design concepts for the future six-lane State Route 520 corridor in the Seattle area. At an open house Thursday, WSDOT staff will share updated concepts for SR 520 improvements near Interstate 5, and public feedback will help drive future design decisions.
The open house is scheduled from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Montlake Community Center, 1618 E. Calhoun St., Seattle. The meeting site is accessible to people with disabilities and accommodations can be arranged in advance by calling 206-770-3500.
The open house will feature concepts for improvements in the westernmost areas of the SR 520 corridor, including I-5, the lid at 10th Avenue E. and Delmar Road E., and areas beneath and near the Portage Bay Bridge. WSDOT also is working on conceptual designs for bicycle and pedestrian connections in the area.
This meeting is the latest in a series of open houses in the Seattle Community Design Process and builds on design open houses last fall. Materials from previous open houses are posted online, and updated materials will be added later this week. The last meeting in this series is planned for July. Public feedback can be sent to SR520CommunityDesign@wsdot.wa.gov.
