Area residents can learn about the the next steps for real estate purchases along Interstate 90 as part of the North Spokane Corridor project at an open house set for May 25.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will host an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at the East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St. in Spokane, to present information on the next phase of real estate acquisition.

No formal presentation is planned, and people are invited to drop by anytime during the meeting. Project details will be on display for viewing with Engineering and Real Estate Services staff on hand to listen, answer questions, and take comments on the project.

WSDOT will soon begin purchasing residential parcels in the area south of I-90 between the Liberty Park and Sprague Avenue Interchanges. Purchases will begin on the east end of the project limits and proceed west. The parcels WSDOT purchases are needed so crews can widen the freeway and build a new interchange to connect I-90 to the new North Spokane Corridor freeway.
