WILBUR – The Keller Ferry on SR 21 is back on schedule and sailing again after crews repaired the north-shore loading ramp.

The ferry went out of service Thursday, April 7, after a floatation bag supporting the vehicle-loading ramp failed, as Washington State Department of Transportation crew was moving the ramp and dock assembly to a temporary, low-water location.

The ramp became lodged in the lakebed, so crews used a crane to hoist it out of the water and make repairs.

The alternate location allows the ferry to continue running as Grand Coulee Dam draws down Lake Roosevelt’s water level to handle heavy spring runoff.
