Update 2:30 p.m. - 3/25/2011: The around-the-clock closure of one lane on eastbound Edgar Martinez Drive from 1st Avenue S. to northbound I-5 is cancelled. Also cancelled: the nightly right lane closure of westbound I-90 from the west highrise to I-5 and the closure of one lane on the ramp from westbound I-90 to northbound I-5. This also means that traffic cameras and traffic congestion information on the Seattle traffic map near the I-5/I-9 interchange will be available this weekend. Traffic cameras and traffic congestion data on I-405 between Renton and Bellevue will be unavailable as previously scheduled.
SHORELINE – A slew of closures and construction work are planned throughout the Puget Sound region this weekend. Drivers are urged to map out routes in advance, leave extra time and prepare for extra congestion.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close a ferry terminal, close a highway, trim trees, install fiber lines and much more. The following is a summary of the work:

Mukilteo ferry terminal closure
For a second weekend, the Mukilteo ferry terminal is closed for preservation work. Friday morning, March 25, through Sunday night, March 27, Mukilteo/Clinton ferry riders will use the Edmonds terminal. Check the revised schedule for sailing times.
SR 99 – Battery Street Tunnel
City of Seattle crews will close one northbound lane of SR 99 through the Battery Street Tunnel and the Western Avenue on-ramp from 11 p.m. Friday, March 25, to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 26, for maintenance work.
I-90 near Seattle - CANCELLED
Crews will close the right lane of westbound I-90 from the west highrise of the floating bridge to I-5 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights to extend the fiber optic communications system. The left lane of the westbound I-90 ramp to northbound I-5 will also be closed. Drivers should also plan for an around-the-clock closure of one lane on eastbound Edgar Martinez Drive S. to northbound I-5 from Friday night, March 25, until Monday morning, March 28. I-90 near Eastgate
Crews will close the two right lanes of the westbound I-90 collector-distributor at 150th Avenue S.E. and two ramps for overhead sign work on Saturday, March 26, from 5 – 10 a.m. The ramps from northbound 150th Avenue S.E. and eastbound S.E. Eastgate Way to westbound I-90 will also be closed. There will be a signed detour.
I-405 near Renton
The right lane of northbound I-405 near N.E. 44th Street will be closed Saturday, March 26, from sunrise to 10 a.m. and Sunday, March 27, from sunrise to 11 a.m. while crews remove large trees growing too close to the interstate.
SR 522 near Bothell
All westbound lanes of SR 522 near Bothell will be closed on Friday night from Kaysner Way to 102nd Avenue N.E. to repave a bus pullout, replace pedestrian ramps, install traffic detectors and video detection equipment. One eastbound lane will also be closed. Check our website for detour information and closure hours.
Seattle traffic cameras and flow map - UPDATED
Traffic cameras on I-405 between Renton and Bellevue will be offline this weekend. Engineers are removing and relocating fiber lines to prepare for the April 1-4 removal of the N.E. 12th Street Bridge in Bellevue. During the work, portions of I-405 on the Seattle traffic map may appear white, indicating no traffic congestion data is available.
Drivers can use other resources to plan their commutes including checking travel alerts, or dial 5-1-1 for real time traffic information.
