ARLINGTON - John Shambaugh will serve as the new Acting Director for WSDOT Aviation, beginning Feb. 4, 2010. Shambaugh steps into the position vacated by John Sibold, who has spent the past eight years as the Aviation Director.

Shambaugh came to WSDOT as an aviation planner eight years ago after working with Douglas County as a transportation planner. He has led strategic projects like the Long-Term Air Transportation Study, Airport Stormwater Guidelines, and the Airport Land Use Compatibility Program. John has also worked extensively with our aviation partners at the federal, state and local level, together with stakeholders like the Washington Pilots Association and others.
