OLYMPIA – Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) offices around the state will close on Monday, Oct. 11, as part of legislatively mandated temporary layoffs due to state budget reductions.

While the majority of WSDOT offices will be closed due to temporary layoffs, a limited number of employees will remain at work to operate, construct and maintain highways and ferries. This ensures that the ferries continue running, construction projects stay on track, and maintenance workers can respond to weather and roadway incidents.

Offices that issue permits for oversize and over-height vehicles will be closed. However, permits can be obtained online at www.wsdot.wa.gov/commercialvehicle/.

All WSDOT operations and services will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
