VANCOUVER – The Oregon and Washington State departments of transportation will close I-5 southbound between SR 14 in Vancouver (Exit 1B) and Janzen Beach in Portland (Exit 308), from 11 p.m. Saturday night to 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
Southbound drivers on I-5 can take SR 14 east to continue south on I-205. All lanes on I-205 southbound will remain open. The ongoing construction work on the I-205 Glenn Jackson Bridge will only impact the northbound lanes.
During the I-5 closure, ODOT and WSDOT crews will perform maintenance activities on and over the interstate that cannot be safely performed with traffic traveling on I-5. Work includes overhead sign replacement and repairs, electrical work, pavement preservation, and pavement marking restoration.
ODOT is continuing bridge joint replacement work and double-lane closures this weekend on the northbound I-205 Glenn Jackson Bridge. The two right lanes on the bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, June 12 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 14. For information visit: http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGION1/GlennJackson/.
