SR 14 will close on a scheduled basis between March and September
WHITE SALMON – SR 14 will be closed for long durations during construction work this spring and summer, with some of the closures beginning in March. Find out how to plan your trips and avoid long delays at a WSDOT open house Thursday, Feb. 18 in White Salmon.
Crews on the SR 14, Rockfall Mitigation White Salmon Vicinity project will remove loose rock, unstable soil, trees and other debris from the slope above SR 14 to protect drivers from potential rockfall. The $3.8 million project is funded through federal highway improvement dollars and is scheduled for completion in fall 2010.
SR 14 near Dog Mountain (mile post 53) and White Salmon (mile post 65) will be completely closed for up to two hours at a time during this work. These closures will help ensure the safety of drivers and construction crews, and protect nearby railroad tracks from damage during rock removal operations.
