VANCOUVER – Drivers will encounter night time ramp and lane closures on northbound I-205 and SR 14 in Vancouver beginning Monday, January 18. The closures will allow WSDOT’s contractor to safely complete final sign work for the I-205 – Mill Plain Exit – NE 112th Connector project.
Monday, January 18, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 19
Drivers will encounter a full closure of the on-ramp from northbound I-205 to SR 14. Additionally, two right lanes on northbound I-205 will be closed from the Washington State Line to the SR 14 interchange (mile posts 26.6-26.9).
Tuesday, January 19, and Wednesday, January 20, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Drivers will encounter a right lane closure on northbound I-205 at Mill Plain Boulevard (milepost 27.8), and lane shifts on the northbound off-ramps at Mill Plain each night.
Alternate routes will be available during the full closure of the SR 14 on-ramp. Drivers traveling I-205 northbound destined for SR 14 are encouraged to use the Mill Plain Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 28). Drivers can then turn left (west), cross over the interstate and come back southbound on I-205 to Exit 27. Local commuters may also consider alternate routes, such as I-5.
Sign installation is one of the final steps in completing the I-205 – Mill Plain Exit- NE 112th Connector project, which has been under construction since June 2008. The $16 million project, funded through the 2003 gas tax and partnership funds from the City of Vancouver, is on-schedule and on-budget.
