HOQUIAM – Sunshine in the forecast has crews hustling to begin a three-mile paving project on SR 109 in Hoquiam next week.

Motorists can expect one-way, alternating traffic on SR 109 from just north of Harborview Court to the Grass Creek Bridge beginning Monday, June 8. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Crews plan to pave the eastbound lane Monday through Wednesday and the westbound lane Thursday and Friday. Work is weather-dependent.

WSDOT awarded this $760,000 project to Granite Construction of Tumwater in late April. It provides a smoother, safer roadway and an economic boost for Grays Harbor County.
